Student Volunteer
The Student Volunteer Program is designed to make the volunteer experience a valuable tool towards the career goals of our student volunteers. Our various positions offer opportunities for students to explore various health-care opportunities.
Minimum age of 18 years
Completion of a Student Volunteer application link and online orientation
Complete and pass Live scan (ONLY FOR SPECIFIED DEPARTMENTS)
Completion of all required immunizations, including TB test(s), MMR, and Varicella
Completion of all required volunteer forms.
Agreement to volunteer for 100 hours within six months; commitment of 1 four hour shift per week.

Volunteer Services has a summer high school program for students ages 15 to 17. Due to the structured schedules and demands of high school students, this will be the only general student program available to students ages 15 -17. Please check back in April of 2016 to find out more information on when the application period will open.

Our Direct Referral program is available all year to students invited by a SFGH staff member to volunteer in that staff member’s department. (AGES 15 & UP)
